Commentary without consequences is what communism looks like. So when the Sunday Star Times comes out with 719 words of Phantom Expander praise, I think it's fair to call the author out as the thing he seems to like so much.
Actually his piece has nothing at all to do with the Expander, more to do with National's anti-property-rights pandering. It contains the usual blend of one point, some inoffensive trolling and some shit he remembers from a sociology paper he took once. But there's also this:
I think the Phantom Expander needs to learn how to use the ‘crevice wand’ attachment that comes with the cans of expanding foam, which is just a simple thin plastic tube that attaches to the outlet. This would allow him to place the foam much deeper into the tailpipes without it being visible from the outside, as it is in the photo above. Then the drivers wouldn’t know they’ve been ‘foamed’ until their engines blew up.
Now this guy doesn't exactly fit the profile, (at least not for the expander), but he's clearly thinking of taking a run at something. Maybe Mayor. Also WTF? How is she still even allowed to make laws? If she likes paying artists so much why doesn't she just... fill them up with foam.
