Great Threads In History: Kingdom Hearts BBS, May 2006

To cleanse the pallet after the recent HAB4U fat-fish flame war here's something that happened May 2006, on a bulletin board where people go to talk about Kingdom Hearts. That's a game that I've never played but which seems to mush together the equally shit worlds of non-racist Disney and non-tentacle-incest Japanese animation. Anyway the shitness of the game isn't really relevant. What I wanted to share is this thread which burst into life one Friday, a little after lunch:

Ok, one thing that really pisses me off is when your playing an rpg and someone comes up to you and says "hey, that reminds me of pokemon". Wtf, i hate when people do that, i'm like "no this is not like pokemon". Then they reply back with..."but you run around randomly and enocounter monsters". Has anyone ever said this to you? Does it piss you off? Let me know.

There are a thousand things you should note about this paragraph. One is that it describes something that almost certainly only happened once, ever. The second is that it definitely didn't happen ever, at all.

Never had I been told that or had a rp based around Pokemon or have similar attributes towards it besides the fighting. Yet I don't see anyone in a rp holding any form of a ball and throwing it at a monster expecting to catching it and hoping to train it later.

Evangeline is a fuckwit. And has missed the point completely. It takes until Wednesday for someone to do the obvious and make the original ritalin-fuelled splutter all about how awesome he is:
